Hello! What’s your background, and what does your company do?
Hi! My background is a varied one, I am from England but have lived and worked across many different continents in many different sectors. Do Not Age is an anti ageing organisation with the mission to extend healthy lifespan for as many people as possible. We achieve this by providing the best lifestyle advice and content for free, and the highest quality supplements to support that lifestyle at the best possible price. We have huge goals, but have already made an amazing impact to so many lives and I'm really proud of what everyone involved has achieved.
How did you get into longevity? What was your motivation behind Do Not Age? How did the company start?
As with most things in life, I fell in to it! Health is one of those things that needs major reform. As my generation grew up we were given so many false facts, usually by our parents who were just trying their best and receiving bad information themselves. Now most people are aware that medical doctors are there to treat symptoms, not prevent illness, we must look to each other to share best practices and learn from each other. This is one of the reasons we love the Do Not Age community, we are all working towards the same goal and everybody helps each other.
Supplements can be a polarizing topic in the health, biohacking, and longevity community. Some people have extensive supplement stacks (Ray Kurzweil, Serge Faguet) while others are more much more circumspect about their efficacy — especially given their ongoing costs. What's your position?
Great question. I used to think too many supplements were bad, again this goes back to the falsities that we are taught as we grow up. Now I realise that provided you are consuming the right, high quality ingredients, supplements are an amazing tool to supplement a healthy lifestyle. What we aim to do is find the superstars in nature, then concentrate that into a supplement. A great example is our Pure Fisetin, the most powerful senolytic, which provides 800 strawberries worth of fisetin! This would not be realistic to get from your diet and lifestyle, so we concentrate it and make it easy to consume.
As for cost, when we entered the NMN market we set the bar for high quality and low price with our 6 month supply bottles. Since then, two other large NMN distributors have come out with their own larger volume supply and lowered their prices. Again, we're very proud of what we have done and will continue to do it.
There seems to be a low key rivalry between supporters of nicotinamide riboside (NR) and nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN). What’s your take on the pros and cons of each?
This one is very simple. In the body, NR is turned into NMN which is turned into NAD+. Taking NR means another process for your body to go through, which means wastage and less potency, ultimately less NAD+. NAD+ is too large of a molecule to be absorbed in the body. Therefore, if raising NAD+ is the goal, it will always be better to take NMN. The "pro" of NR is that it is cheaper, and always will be, because to make NMN we start with NR then process it, saving your body a job.
Do Not Age sells Fisetin, Berberine, TMG, Resveratrol, and Hylauronic acid supplements. How do you decide on which ones to offer? What products are on your radar to add in the future?
We are very mission driven. Our mission is to extend healthy lifespan for as many people as possible. We only provide products that we know will help us towards that. We use a variety of avenues and processes to decide what we offer. We speak to leading researchers in the field often, one example is Professor Vera Gorbunova, who is on our Advisory Board. She provides great insights and guidance for the latest scientific breakthroughs and how we can translate them to help the Do Not Age community.
Do Not Age also sells epigenetic clock / biological age tests. Can you tell us more about the product, specs, and how biohackers might incorporate it into their biohack stack?
Yes, definitely! The original trailblazers like Steve Horvath are to thank for what we now know about biological age testing. Epigenetic markers are what we use to test your biological age, but the first generation tests all looked at a small number of them and have an accuracy range of 5 years either way. We are pioneering next generation sequencing to look at millions and millions of epigenetic markers that gives the world's first true biological age. We believe this was a compulsory addition to our offering as we know our protocols work. This gives us the chance to prove it. It helps the community to know what they are doing is working. "I feel better, I have more energy" won't cut it anymore - now we can test to see the real truth. The test kit is non invasive and can be taken by anyone anywhere in the world. How frequent most people will want to take one is up for debate. We think the optimum is every 6 months, but this may depend on affordability. We are launching a subscription service before the end of this year which will offer the best priced pure NMN and trans-resveratrol on the planet - users can add a biological age test to their subscription for a discounted price. In short, we believe if you are going to test your biological age there is no point using the ones currently available that are inaccurate, so we have put off introducing the age tests until we could guarantee accuracy. Pre-orders are available now and we expect to start shipping in November 2020.
What’s in your personal biohacking stack right now?Â
I try to fast but often fail. I struggle consuming large amounts of fruit and vegetables (a leftover from my childhood) so I juice when time permits. I exercise with jogging and playing football (soccer). Sleep is an issue for me, all the science points to it being so critical for longevity yet still I work late nights and get up early. It will catch up with me unless I do something about it! We have an anti-stress campaign being formulated for 2021, as this is another silent killer. As for supplements, I take our Pure NMN, Pure TMG, Pure Resveratrol, Pure Berberine and Pure Hyaluronic Acid. I will be adding senolytics such as Pure Fisetin and Pure Quercetin shortly. Everything I mentioned can be purchased in the Do Not Age shop.
What process do you use to evaluate what biohacks work for you?
Until now everyone could only guess or use standard data. Now we have the world's first and only accurate biological age tests, we can track our progress down to the last detail. It's the only way to know for sure.
What are the most impactful biohacks that worked for you that you would recommend others check out?
With biohacking, compounding is in full effect. You could practice caloric restriction, increase your fresh fruit and veg intake, sleep better, stress less, exercise regularly or combine the best longevity supplements daily. All those things on their own have proven to work wonders for your health and longevity, but when they are amalgamated, the effects skyrocket. Similar to how NMN and trans-resveratrol work alone, but together their effects are compounded to far greater than the total of the two separately.
What has been the biggest challenge for Do Not Age so far?
The pandemic caused logistics issues for us, but we have now adapted our processes to ensure this cannot happen again. Another challenge has been copycats. Once you have a reputation for quality like ours, you become the victim of con artists creating websites and products with a likeness to yours, trying to piggyback off our reputation. We wouldn't mind, it's a complement in a way, but some unsuspecting people have ended up buying poor quality products this way. My advice is to ensure you only buy from the official website, www.donotage.org
What’s next for Do Not Age? What are you excited for in the longevity / supplements / nutriceuticals space?
There's hundreds of exciting new things coming up. This space is accelerating at a pace never seen before and we are loving it!
In terms of Do Not Age we have just launched our daily vitamin D3, vitamin K2 & magnesium product, and have Pure Quercetin coming up in October.
We always have high quality content pushed out to our site members on a regular basis, keeping them up to date with the lastest science, which we translate into layman's terms.
Our subscription service will revolutionise biohacking and bring millions more people into the affordability bracket for real NAD boosters, sirtuin activators, senolytics and more.
The long term future will be dictated by the science and we will stay ahead of the curve to ensure we achieve our mission of extending healthy lifespan for as many people as possible.
Is there anything else you want to let us know about Do Not Age? Where can we learn more about you and your company?
The best way to learn about us is to become a site member at Do Not Age - it's completely free and always will be.
